01
ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT
We urgently need to restore fiscal responsibility and economic productivity, which holds the promise of creating more local jobs and a brighter future for Canadians.
As a fiscal conservative, I understand our current government's record debt accumulation and annual servicing cost, which continues to handcuff Canadians economically.
We must begin the difficult work to become fiscally fit and increase productivity. Canada is not just a tapestry of cultures; it is also diverse in our corporate landscape, yet our government has awarded billions in financial backing to just a few hand-picked establishments. Boosting productivity is a crucial milestone we must achieve with broader investments and economic conditions from which diverse sectors can benefit. With a steady supply of inexpensive labour, businesses' reliance on low-skill, low-productivity jobs will continue to weaken our economy.
02
IMMIGRATION
It's synonymous with Canada and has been our greatest strength for generations. How did it all go so wrong? From the highly skilled migrants who built so much of what we stand on today to the current rate of adding over a million people a year without a plan for them or us, it's unsustainable, unacceptable, unjust, and simply un-Canadian of us.
Our government has made us fiscally unfit and unproductive, leading to infrastructure stress on housing, education, and healthcare. Most alarming is the abuse of our immigration system, including student visas, and the acceptance of many young aspirational students who live in overpopulated regions in conditions not conducive to progressing their academic endeavours. As a professor of 10 years in the college system, I have daily conversations with students who have expressed unhappiness and disruption to their academic future. Let's make our system academically fit again.
03
NATIONAL
SECURITY
Once iconic and respected globally for its discipline, experience and fortitude, Canada's Armed Forces is a shadow of its former self—another crucial component of Canada's identity impacted by a fiscally unfit, unproductive government. Underpaid and underfunded, we cannot fulfill our obligations to serve, protect, or monitor our borders and respond to crises such as fire, floods, or search and rescue nationally and abroad. As the son of a veteran, I know what our service men and women sacrifice on our behalf, and I will be vocal in supporting them.
